Hi all,
Welcome back to part 2 of the ONE documentary where I followed the Irish Amputee Football team on their journey just before, during and just after the European Amputee Football Championships in Turkey in Oct 2017.
I’m hoping you’ve heard part one…if not…stop right now and go back to it! Link here!
If you have, you’ll know the focus was on the team’s preparation for the Euros, their hopes for the tournament from a few of the players and then one of the co-managers, Nick Harrison.
In this final part, I connect in with David Saunders & Kevan O’Rourke during the tournament after a couple of the group games and then again after the quarter final match. You’ll get a real sense of the focus, aspirations and ups and downs that this type of tournament can bring.
Towards the end of the episode, I connect back in with David a few weeks after the tournament ended after the dust settled. David reflects on the tournament, the progress made, and looks ahead to the future of Irish Amputee Football.
Finally, I connect in with Nick Harrison again to get his view on learnings from the tournament, things he might have done differently, and next steps for the team and association in 2018.
This was a great experience for me and I'm delighted to have captured it, and now shared it with you all. I really hope you enjoy listening.
